On Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, the City of Gainesville will conduct an election to address offices held by the Mayor as well as Council Members and Board of Education Members representing wards/districts 1 and 4 respectively. Hall County Elections & Registration will conduct the elections via intergovernmental agreement.

Important 2021 Election Dates
Qualifying - Monday, Aug. 16, 2021 through Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021
The City Clerk's Office conducted qualifying August 16-18 in compliance with the Georgia Election Code. Qualifying fees were set via Business Resolution 2021-05 (see documents).
Register to Vote - Monday, Oct. 4, 2021
The last day to register and be eligible to vote in this election is October 4, 2021. For more information on registering to vote please visit the Resources page.
Advance/Early Voting - Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021 through Friday, Oct. 29, 2021
Advance/Early voting will be available on the first floor of the Administration Building in The Station located at 300 Henry Ward Way, Gainesville, Georgia 30501 beginning Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021 and ending Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance/Early voting will be available on both Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Absentee Ballot - Friday, Oct. 22, 2021
The last day to accept these applications and mail out absentee ballots is Friday, Oct. 22, 2021. For more information on absentee by mail voting visit Hallcounty.org/249/Elections.
Election Day - Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021
Election Day voting will be available on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Voters will cast ballots at their assigned municipal voting location.
Run-off election - Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021
A run-off election will occur on Nov. 30, 2021 if necessary.
